James has been teaching and coaching for over a decade. He lives in Los Angeles and works professionally as an actor in theatre, film, and television. He has an MFA from the American Conservatory Theatre. With his PhD research at the California Institute of Integral Studies (funded by The Esalen Institute) he explored a distinct teaching approach that focuses on cultivating the extraordinary capacities that characterize great actors. He loves the creative process of teaching and teaches primarily through caring relationship to his students. He has taught at The American Conservatory Theatre, The Berkeley Repertory School of Theatre, The Theatre of Arts, Naropa University, and privately.
